The Torremar building is a manor house of modernist influence built in 1901 by the industrialist Antoni Vives Masiques. In 1928, Luis Folch i Torres founded the Torremar Institute, the only one of its kind in Catalonia until 1936, to accommodate children with all kinds of social problems. In 1990 the family gave up the Torremar Institute to the Generalitat de Catalunya and since then, The Catalonia Group takes over management. Currently, the building houses a Home-Residence and an Occupational Center.
